At Lighthouse, we value:
-
At Lighthouse we submit ourselves to the authority, power and inspiration of Scripture. We are committed to building our lives on the Word and to being transformed by it through the power of the Holy Spirit. We value dynamic, grace-filled, Biblical teaching that is sound and relevant. We believe that signs, wonders and miracles will follow the preaching of the Word of God. (2 Tim 3:16-17; Rom 1:16-17; 1 Cor 2:4-5; Acts 4:29-31; Is 61:1-3)
-
We welcome and honor the Holy Spirit. We expectantly desire the tangible, visible demonstration of the Holy Spirit through signs, wonders, miracles and encourage the active use of all of the gifts given by the Spirit. We seek to live life in the fullness and power of the Holy Spirit in order to be effective witnesses for Jesus Christ. (Acts 1:8; Acts 2:1-4; 1 Cor 14:1; Heb 2:3-4; 1 Cor 12:7-12)
-
We place a high priority on worship, giving ample time and intentional focus to loving Jesus with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength. We delight in His presence and welcome the manifestation of God’s glory. We encourage artistic creativity and freedom in praise and worship. (John 4:24; 2 Cor 3:7-11; 2 Cor 3:17-18; Ps 150; Ps 63:2-5; Mark 12:29-31)
-
We actively engage in prayer in all of its many Biblical forms and expressions recognizing that prayer involves both speaking and listening to the Lord. Prayer permeates all aspects of life and ministry at Lighthouse. We believe that both individual and corporate prayer are vital and that God delights in answering the prayers of His people. (Is 56:7; Col 4:2; 2 Chr 7:14; 1 Tim 2:1-3; Ezek 33:7; Rom. 8:26, 27; 1 Cor 14:15)
-
Experiencing life together as a multi-ethnic, loving, nurturing community is foundational to who we are at Lighthouse. Because we believe strongly that every member is a minister and that every work can be a ministry, we are committed to establishing cells in the market place, in homes, among youth and children, virtually anywhere that people can gather. (1 Pet 2:9; Acts 2:42-47; Acts 17:16-17; Mark 6:56; Ex 31:1-6; Rev 7:9; Gal 3:26-28)
-
We are committed to the on-going transformation, training and equipping of every believer, both men and women, to do the work of the ministry and to reach their full potential and destiny in God. We place a high priority on developing servant leaders to be people of passion, power, purity and prayer. Through the development of people in cell groups, we are making disciples who make a difference. (Phil 1:9-11; Col 1:9-14; Eph 4:11-13; Matt 28:18-20; 2 Cor 9:7-15; 2 Cor 5:17)
-
Because of our passion for Jesus we are compelled by His compassion to reach out to the lost. We are committed to the creative formation of evangelistic cells to reach out to those in need of a Savior. We earnestly seek God to use each of us in a revival that will usher in a great harvest of new believers through the preaching of the Word accompanied by signs and wonders. We are committed to keeping our structure simple and reproducible so that we can plant cell churches in other regions and nations. (Titus 3:4-7; I Jn 5:3; Matt 28:19-20; Is 61:1-3; Jude 1:21-23)
-
At Lighthouse, we are committed to reaching out to the poor and needy through practical expressions of love and mercy. We believe the transformational process that moves people into a place of wholeness and financial stability takes a multifaceted approach that includes networking with other existing ministries. We seek to be a tangible expression of the heart and compassion of Jesus to those in need. (Ps 72:4, 12-14; Matt 25:34-40; Is 58:6-8; Is 42:3, 4; Matt 9:35, 36; Matt 14:14-16)
-
We are committed to supporting and actively participating in seeing individuals, cities and nations transformed by the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to reach into the nations through interactive partnerships with effective, Spirit empowered, nation-changing ministries. (Mark 16:15-20; Luke 4:18-19; Acts 13:2-3; Ps 96:3-6)
-
Looking to Jesus alone as our source, we desire to be an open well of renewal, healing, impartation, anointing and refreshing for God’s people. We long to be a place of habitation for the Lord, knowing that God inhabits the praises of His people. We seek to be actively involved in revival in our region and beyond. (John 4:13-14; Zech 4:6; Ps 22:3; Is 58:11-12; Ps 46:4; Acts 3:19; Jer 31:12-14)
-
We are dedicated to living out our stewardship of life by giving joyfully and generously to the Lord of our time, talents and treasures. At Lighthouse, we are also committed to expressing that generosity to each other and to the community around us. We believe that it is impossible to out give God and that He enables us to excel in the grace of giving. (2 Cor 8:7; Matt 6:21; Ps 37:25, 26; Prov 3.27; Prov 19:17; Prov 22:9)
-
At Lighthouse we strongly encourage and support creative, innovative, entrepreneurial people. We are committed to being a permission granting church, doing new things for the glory of God. We recognize that when trying new things, a certain amount of failure is normal and view it as a learning opportunity. We believe that true creativity comes from being in vital, interactive relationship with our Creator God. (Matt 13:52; Is 43:18-19; Ps 33:3-4; Is 42:9; Amos 3:7; Gen 1:1; 2 Cor 3:17)
