"Where the People do the Stuff"

Lighthouse Values :

1. Word– At Lighthouse we submit ourselves to the authority, power and inspiration of Scripture. We are committed to building our lives on the Word and to being transformed by it through the power of the Holy Spirit. We value dynamic, grace-filled, Biblical teaching that is sound and relevant. We believe that signs, wonders and miracles will follow the preaching of the Word of God.

2. Holy Spirit– We welcome and honor the Holy Spirit. We expectantly desire the tangible, visible demonstration of the Holy Spirit through signs, wonders, miracles and encourage the active use of all of the gifts given by the Spirit. We seek to live life in the fullness and power of the Holy Spirit in order to be effective witnesses for Jesus Christ.

4. Prayer– We actively engage in prayer in all of its many Biblical forms and expressions recognizing that prayer involves both speaking and listening to the Lord. Prayer permeates all aspects of life and ministry at Lighthouse. We believe that both individual and corporate prayer are vital and that God delights in answering the prayers of His people.

    Is 56:7; Col 4:2; 2 Chr 7:14; 1 Tim 2:1-3; Ezek 33:7; Rom. 8:26, 27; 1 Cor 14:15

5. Network of Cells– Experiencing life together as a multi-ethnic, loving, nurturing community is foundational to who we are at Lighthouse. Because we believe strongly that every member is a minister and that every work can be a ministry, we are committed to establishing cells in the market place, in homes, among youth and children, virtually anywhere that people can gather.

    1 Pet 2:9; Acts 2:42-47; Acts 17:16-17; Mark 6:56; Ex 31:1-6; Rev 7:9; Gal 3:26-28

6. Development of People – We are committed to the on-going transformation, training and equipping of every believer, both men and women, to do the work of the ministry and to reach their full potential and destiny in God. We place a high priority on developing servant leaders to be people of passion, power, purity and prayer. Through the development of people in cell groups, we are making disciples who make a difference.

We are committed to the creative formation of evangelistic cells to reach out to those in need of a Savior. We earnestly seek God to use each of us in a revival that will usher in a great harvest of new believers through the preaching of the Word accompanied by signs and wonders. We are committed to keeping our structure simple and reproducible so that we can plant cell churches in other regions and nations.

8. Compassion ministries– At Lighthouse, we are committed to reaching out to the poor and needy through practical expressions of love and mercy. We believe the transformational process that moves people into a place of wholeness and financial stability takes a multifaceted approach that includes networking with other existing ministries. We seek to be a tangible expression of the heart and compassion of Jesus to those in need.

Lighthouse Mission Statement:

To build a regional cell church of Spirit empowered disciples, who are transforming the Bay Area and beyond, through the good news of Jesus Christ, with signs, wonders and miracles.

Lighthouse Vision Statement:

At Lighthouse, we are excited about the future. We believe that God’s time for the Bay Area is now and we are enthusiastically ready to be a part of this outpouring of His Spirit. God has given us a vision of His light and glory flooding the Bay Area, pushing back the darkness and ushering in revival. If you are hungry for more of God, if you want to do the stuff that you read about in the Bible, if you are longing for genuine community where you can experience life together with other believers, we invite you to join us in realizing this vision:

  • To build a regional cell church
  • We are committed to seeing a regional network of cells spreading like a power grid across the Bay Area. Beginning in Concord, we will spread out north into Sacramento, south into San Jose, west into San Francisco and east into Antioch. We see market place cells thriving in the business centers of the Bay Area including San Francisco, Marin, Oakland, Berkeley, and Walnut Creek. We see explosive growth on the many college campuses in our region. Because our church will reflect the ethnic diversity of the Bay Area, we will have cells in a variety of languages (Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, Spanish, Tagolog, etc.). Our youth and children cells, while fun will also equip them to do the work of the ministry to fulfill God’s calling on this generation of young people to minister with power even in their youth.

  • To be Spirit empowered disciples

We are committed to seeing our members grounded in an ever-growing understanding of God’s unconditional love for them. We see our members, both men and women, maturing as they are equipped and trained to do the work of the ministry, reaching their full potential and destiny in God. As their gifts and abilities are identified, they begin to grow and flourish, participating in the work of the Spirit, moving powerfully in God’s anointing, and ministering effectively to others. Creativity is encouraged and those who are creative and artistic will find a safe place, in which they can learn, grow and experiment with innovative ways to worship and do the work of the ministry. By being flexible, we are open and responsive to the Holy Spirit giving new ideas and doing new things, keeping us on the cutting edge of what God is doing in His Church.

  • To transform the Bay Area and beyond

We are committed to seeing lives transformed by encountering God through:

Worship that is Jesus focused, Spirit anointed, Biblically grounded, exuberant, expressive, refreshing, creative, extended, intimate and permeated by the glory of the Lord.

Prayer that is diverse in its many expressions including: intercession, warfare, deliverance, healing, impartation, petition, thanksgiving, contemplative, listening, prophetic, powerful, faith-filled, life changing, miracle producing, and leads to a deepening relationship with the Lord.

Mentoring Cells made up of small groups of people experiencing life together in a loving, safe and fun environment in which people can learn and develop in their gifts and callings, be equipped in the Word and find wholeness and fulfillment in Jesus.

Evangelistic Cells creatively developed to reach the lost by meeting their spiritual needs as well as practical, emotional, recreational, and social needs.

Market Place Cells focused on seeing the gospel transform the business community through business people becoming Spirit-filled followers of Christ, succeeding in business through practical application of Biblical principles and flowing in the anointing of God as they see the market place as their parish.

Compassion Ministries reaching out in practical, tangible ways to the poor and needy. We see Lighthouse also networking with other ministries to effectively and comprehensively alleviate poverty and help bring justice in our region.

The Sending Center where we will hold seminars, conferences, business related events, on-going classes, and short-term schools to equip and train the Body of Christ to do the work of the ministry, in local, national and international settings.

The Prayer Center where we will have a 24-hour House of Prayer, Healing Rooms, the Watch of the Lord and a place saturated by His presence where intercessors can come to fast, pray and seek the Lord for several days at a time.

  • To preach the good news of Jesus Christ

We are committed to seeing our members nourished by anointed, dynamic, life changing, practical, understandable, prophetic, biblical preaching and teaching. We see signs, wonders and miracles accompanying the preaching of the Word of God through the power of the Holy Spirit bringing multitudes of new believers into the Kingdom. As we preach the good news of Jesus, we see lives made whole, prisoners freed, the hungry feed, the poor clothed, the blind seeing, the lame walking, and those in darkness released into the light of salvation. We see revival fire spreading throughout the Bay Area, and the glory of the Lord visibly present. We see the nations touched through this outpouring of God’s Spirit.

  • To see signs, wonders and miracles

We are committed to having a church in which the manifestation of the work, presence and power of the Holy Spirit is welcome, anticipated and encouraged. We see our people receiving prayer for healing on every level. We see signs, wonders and miracles as a usual part of our gatherings. We see time for prayer, personal ministry and impartation consistently given. We see all of the gifts and offices given by the Holy Spirit actively, effectively and maturely exercised in our church that we “might attain to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ” (Eph. 4:11-13).
